The Kondoa Rock Art Paintings are found in Kondoa District – Dodoma Region. The Site covers an area of 900square kilometers. Most of the paintings are at Kolo forests. At Kolo rocks there are several cultural and heritage paintings, which portray the ancient life style of Warangi tribe. The area was the residence of Chief Mtemi, one of the traditional leaders in Tanzania. There are also several secret places and trees used for ritual performances, paintings of different animals and human beings, hot and cold water springs, and the beautiful landscape.
Accessibility
The area is accessed by road either from Dodoma City about 202km on the way to Kondoa or from Arusha City about 247km on the way to Kondoa.
